Looks like we're starting to make a tidy profit. I definitely want to do the retrain, the faster Morkus gets some full plate on the better. The only other thing I wanted to do with the downtime was offer the fancy wine to Besmara, and ask that Harrigan gets blown off course or delayed until Morkus is strong enough to go toe to toe with him. I'm not really sure what the appropriate roll is, but I want it to be done in consultation with Sandara.

The first thing I want to do is burn the Fox Glove manor to the ground. Ok. Good. Done.

Morkus' training began on the 8th, and finished on the 13th. We spent one more day in Anchorhead improving the Gaffers' reputation to Disgraceful, and left for Mancatcher Cove on the 14th. If everything goes according to plan, we should return to Sandpoint by the 28th.

Oh maaan. We totally forgot to burn Foxglove Manor to the ground. I'm really glad you didn't try to do that before you exorcised the haunt from the place, because the book quite specifically says that the haunted house does not take kindly to such behaviour, and that the vengeful ghosts of the place will target anyone who tries something like that with phantasmal killer, which I think is a bit harsh. Actually, considering how precariously perched the manor is on that cliff, maybe a couple of castings of stone shape might be more effective. Just landslide the damn thing off into the sea.

so we have to actually exercise the evil spirit from the manor?? No no. The ghosts of the Foxgloves are all gone now. That's what all the holy water was for.

8th of Abadius - An acolyte is hired for Chumlett's Regret, adding free 1st level cleric services and earning an extra +4 GP. 8th of Abadius: 1d20(8) + 205 + 4 (Good Fortune) = 217. Chance of event = 45%. Result = 75. No event. 9th of Abadius: 1d20(18) + 205 + 4 (Good Fortune) = 227. Chance of event = 50%. Result = 83. No event. 10th of Abadius: 1d20(3) + 205 + 4 (Good Fortune) = 212. Chance of event = 55%. Result = 31. Event (57) = Building-Specific Event (Shop) Event (43) = Slow Day. No earnings for the day. 11th of Abadius: Slow Day = 0. Chance of event = 20%. Result = 54. Chance of event = 25%. Result = 37. No event. 13th of Abadius: 1d20(13) + 214 + 4 (Good Fortune) = 231. Chance of event = 30%. Result = 79. Event (20) = Building-Specific Event (Temple) Event (18) = Ceremony Request. An important visitor from Riddleport comes to Chumlett's Regret to ask for Besmara's Blessing for his new business venture... i.e. Plundering the shipping lanes of the Arcadian Ocean for suckers weighed low with plunder. He leaves behind 2d20gp (19gp) in donations. 17th of Abadius: 1d20(9) + 214 = 223. Chance of event = 20%. Result = 25. No event. 18th of Abadius: 1d20(16) + 214 = 230. Chance of event = 25%. Result = 64. No event. 19th of Abadius: 1d20(9) + 214 = 223. Chance of event = 30%. Result = 95. It adds +8 to earnings and functions as two free healer's kits per day. 20th of Abadius: 1d20(18) + 222 = 240. Chance of event = 35%. Result = 72. No event. 21st of Abadius - The Fog of War arrives in Matcatcher Cove. 21st of Abadius: 1d20(17) + 222 = 239. Chance of event = 40%. Result = 61. No event. 22nd of Abadius: 1d20(16) + 222 = 238. Chance of event = 45%. Result = 46. No event. 23rd of Abadius: 1d20(15) + 222 = 237. Chance of event = 50%. Result = 15. Event (56) = Building-Specific Event (Tavern) Event (50) = Bar Brawl! Somebody said something about somebody's mother, and next thing you know, The Rusty Doubloon is a frenzy of fighting pirates. Word of the bloody brawl helps spread the infamy of the establishment, and thus the infamy of the Gaffers in general. Gain 1d4 (1) point of Infamy. 24th of Abadius: 1d20(16) + 222 = 238. Chance of event = 20%. Result = 92. No event. 25th of Abadius: 1d20(16) + 222 = 238. Chance of event = 25%. Result = 66. No event. 26th of Abadius: 1d20(9) + 222 = 231. Chance of event = 30%. Result = 4. Event (68) = Rumormongering. People are talking. Word is starting to spread that perhaps this new ramshackle town of peg-legged miscreants is somewhat lowering the property values of some Magnimarian noblemen's holiday homes. Someone is going to have to attempt a DC 20 diplomacy check to ease tensions when you get back, or the entire venture will lose 1d6 points of Influence. 27th of Abadius: 1d20(2) + 222 = 224. Chance of event = 20%. Result = 17. Event (28) = Building-Specific Event (Temple) Event (53) = Healing Request. An anonymous nobleman has fallen ill, and has asked Chumlett's Regret if it could provide a cleric of Besmara to perform a home visit... This is cool. I think I can work this into the current plot. Since this event occurs the day you get back to Sandpoint, I think I will ignore the boring game effects as written in Ultimate Campaign, and deal with this in-game when you get back to Sandpoint. 28th of Abadius - The Fog of War returns to Sandpoint. Present day.
So. Let's crunch the numbers shall we? The total income for The Sandpoint Gaffers is...
...
452.2gp! +86.7 already in the coffers = 538.9gp in the kitty. +1 Infamy point And with the Rumormongering event, and the Healing Request still left to deal with.
The Salty Concubine, having been staffed with a skeleton crew, will return to Sandpoint by the 4th of Calistril.

Anonymous nobleman, EH?
Also either our good pals and stalwart citizens of Sandpoint Vergil or Henric should attempt that diplomacy role. I like how basically the pirates have moved in next door and there goes the neighbourhood.

There is an orphanage listed in the Buildings and Organizations section here. It'll set you back 2,810gp to buy it outright. But I suppose you might want to make some slight modifications.

An orphanage would make a great front for moving a terrific new drug. Just sayin'
