I was going to reply on facebook, but then I remembered that this is exactly what the messageboard is for. Everyone should get a silver mace. Bludgeoning and silver should handle everything except zombies If only it were that simple. Silver is good for lycanthropes, bludgeoning is good for skeletons. All we know for sure is that we'll be up against ghouls, and ghouls will take damage from anything. We thought we saw ghosts in the window, and the best thing against incorporeal creatures is magic spells, or a ghost touch weapon, and I'm pretty sure nobody can afford a ghost touch weapon. That said, the more weapon options you guys have available, the better.

Methinks maybe some of those spells from Caizarlu's spellbook might come in handy too. Check the Party Loot thread!

We will definitely need to gear and heal up before we head out to Foxglove Manor, then.

Well that was fucking brutal.

It wasn't just brutal to the characters. It was brutal to the DM too. I woke up this morning with absolutely no voice whatsoever. I can barely even whisper. My throat is fucked.
Since you guys didn't technically fight anything last session, I don't think I'm going to give out any xp yet. You do get xp for overcoming the haunts, but the thing about haunts is they don't stop screwing with you until you defeat the source of the haunting. So I think I should really only deal the xp out when/if you make it out of the manor alive. I expect, when that does happen, it will be an absolute bucketload. You'll all probably shoot straight to seventh level.

Man we all came startlingly close to death. If we do hit level 7 is it possible to delay leveling up until I get a chance to retrain to a standard fighter. That's when armor training will actually become useful.

There will definitely be a bit of downtime if we make it out of Foxglove Manor alive. And you can always delay levelling up whenever you want. I think I will allow morkus to retrain for free, because it doesn't really seem fair that he was designed with a different campaign in mind, and then got stuck on land flapping about like a mudskipper. But why change to a standard fighter, when you could change to Two-Handed Fighter? Also, 7th level is when Leadership is on the table. A feat that is sometimes very game changing, but would probably be very appropriate for some characters in this campaign. You know what else morkus might want? Cornugon Smash.Man. I should make a thread for my badass feat recommendations. But I'll probably need everyone's character sheets first... Lest I end up giving bad advice.

Leadership becomes particularly useful when setting up guilds and leagues, from memory...

Leadership becomes particularly useful when setting up guilds and leagues, from memory... Is that part of the Ultimate Campaign downtime thing? What boons does it give to that? I know the reverse is true. You get a +2 to your Leadership score if the leader "Has a stronghold, base of operations, guildhouse, etc."

You get a +2 to your Leadership score if the leader "Has a stronghold, base of operations, guildhouse, etc." Yeah, it was in the downtime thing, but maybe I misread it, because what you're saying makes a lot of sense and shows up in the Rooms / Teams info. But does leadership mean that NPCs can come join the party? That does seem like it could be crazy game-breaking.

...But does leadership mean that NPCs can come join the party? That does seem like it could be crazy game-breaking. It does, and it can. If everyone took Leadership it would end up a horrible mess, with mobs of idiot commoners bumbling into dungeons for you. But it might be good in moderation. If you just took a cohort along to provide healing support, or if some of you flimsier character types took a bodyguard to stand between you and the big bad. Obviously, it also requires double the amount of book-keeping for anyone that chooses to take it, because you'll have to look after a character sheet for your cohort as well.
